ParentScript is built and operated by Alex, an indie software developer. I'm not a child psychologist or pediatrician — I'm a parent and a builder. You can see my other projects at alexkay.dev.
I built ParentScript because I wanted a tool that takes well-established parenting frameworks (Positive Discipline, Faber & Mazlish, Daniel Siegel's neuroscience research, AAP guidelines) and applies them to specific situations — instead of forcing parents to read six books at 11pm when their toddler won't sleep.
The parenting guidance on ParentScript is generated by Claude (Anthropic's AI) using a structured prompt that includes the methodologies referenced above, your child's age and temperament, and the situation you describe.
I do not present this as personal expertise, therapy, or medical advice. It is an applied framework, not professional counsel. Read our full methodology page for the books, frameworks, and limits we work within.
I'm actively looking for a licensed child psychologist, family therapist, or pediatric counselor to review ParentScript's content on a paid partnership basis. If that's you and you're interested, please email hello@parentscript.com.
ParentScript is designed for everyday parenting challenges. If you or your child are facing a serious situation — abuse, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or anything that needs immediate professional help — please use the resources on our crisis help page.
